One possible version:It was a brown box,taped shut with clear packing tape.Could it be?I thought to myself.As I picked at and pulled offthe tape,my disbelief gave way to amazed joy as I saw the titleof the first book in The Famous Five series ..and realized alltwenty-one books in the series were placed in the opened box!Ilooked up at my husband,tears spilling over and dripping downmy cheeks."Thank you,"I whispered,setting the box downand throwing my arms around his neck."But,"I questioned,"what American publisher was selling them?Where did you getthem?”My husband looked at me rather shyly and said,"India."Apparently,he had searched the Internet and found a Britishpublisher that was reprinting the entire series in India and paidthe amount in British pounds.Never mind that he used hiscredit card in far-off India;my happiness was apparentlymore important.This gift did not just replace some of themany precious items I had lost from my childhood,but it alsosymbolized the incredible love and devotion of my husband.I was grateful to him for giving me back a piece of my lostchildhood!
